Instead of reading something in this space this morning, I’m actually going to ask you to write something instead, if you’d like. As you know, Montlake Madness tries to bring you the fan perspective on UW Husky basketball. And, we do our best to represent every single one of you, trying to channel what you’d like to read in this space each day.
From time to time, after I run an interview, readers will suggest questions I could’ve asked a player in our comments section, or by emailing me. These comments always help inform the next post, or the next interview, but now I want to do one better than that.
The Athletic Department was kind enough to invite Montlake Madness to attend the basketball team’s media day which is coming up very soon. So, in advance of that, I wanted to switch things up a little bit, and ask you, the reader, to suggest some questions to ask specific players or coaches. What’s the one thing (or two or three things) you would ask if you had the chance? You can leave them as comments, or email me at MontlakeMadness@gmail.com.
No promises, of course. But, I’ll do my best to be your advocate while I’m there, so please arm me with whatever you’d like to hear about.
Thanks for coming, and thanks in advance for your ideas!

Great blog! I’ve been checking in at least two-three times a day since I first heard about it. Through Condotta’s blog? How about a quick update on the assistant coaching staff and their practice and game responsibilities? Thanks.

You always have such good questions but I always wonder what the coaches say to a recruit who is second tier. We always see he has been offered by UW, when we know they have bigger fish to fry. What do they say to these guys to possibly get them to come and make them feel good about themselves when someone else has them as a primary recruit. Also, how close was Jrue Holiday to choosing the Huskies and did he ever tell his brother, “I wish I would have come to Seattle with you.” Thanks!

Ask Gant, Breshers and Holiday when they are going to release the “Q-Walk” video

Can you ask IT if he’s gonna use his “Cold Shoulder” move more this year, and will we see some dunks from him in games this year.
Can you ask Venoy if theres still beef between him and Glasser.

UW’s roster is pretty much stacked with talent from 1 to 12. Not everyone will get playing time so how will the coaches handle these high profile players who don’t get much playing time and keep them happy? This is obviously an issue that all elite college basketball programs deal with, but I’m interested to know what Romar’s philosophy and methodology is. UW will have to get used to this with their continued success as they continue to recruit high profile players every year.

With Cameron Dollar being the “tough” coach, sort of the enforcer during practices, who takes over that role now? I think that tough coaching is part of the reason why our players are so tenacious and have that “attitude” and it also keeps the players hard-nosed instead of being passive, soft players.

Q-Walk was released a couple days ago on youtube (I found it just by googling it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQ3vSqd0hGQ

If everyone on the team (including coaches) played in a 1 on 1 tournament, who would win?
Which scheduled game might the team be looking forward to playing the most?
What are Romar’s expectations for this season? What would be considered a successful year? How do his feelings for the prospects for this year’s team compare to last year at the same time?
-
What have some of the players been working on that might be a surprise to their Pac-10 opponents? In other words, something that the opponent might not expect from an individual.
-
how hard is romar recruiting joshua smith out of kentwood high school.
-
how did they think of that Q Walk video?
-
Is Breshers healthy enough and in good enough condition to contribute significant (i.e. ~20+) minutes? Is he still hampered by his injuries from last season? To what extent?
Will the offensive philosophy change without Brockman? More specifically, will the Dawgs put the same emphasis on trying to get the ball into the low post? If so, to whom?
