Coach Lorenzo Romar started his press conference Dec. 15 on a bright note, albeit not an expected one.
“My opening statement is positive news: I can’t wait for football season,” Romar said. “I am so excited that Jake Locker is coming back. That is going to be awesome. I have to get there even earlier now, get my kettle corn while it’s hot and enjoy football season. But back to basketball.”
Back to it indeed, as the Huskies were coming off a 74-66 loss to Georgetown in their only game of the week and have to wait another six days before a home match up against Portland.

Second of all, I think that Coach Romar is seeing the value of using the 10-11 man rotation. We have athletes on our team that can fly. We have to use each of them to wear out the other team. At the very end of the Georgetown game they started to tire.
Third…we have to start half court, 3/4 court, full court pressing, while using all of our guys, the ENTIRE game.
I think if we pressed against the Hoyas we could have worn all of their starters out and won the game. The key is our depth even though we don’t have the hugest front line. We don’t have the smallest front line either.
I am still quite optimistic about this season. LET’S GO and play some hoops.

I’m really sorry… I took the “free” language out when I realized.
My understanding was that the Fast Breaks were going to be free content. Won’t happen again. Very sorry…
