Nothing’s Hotter Than We Are!

Blowing up copyMaybe it’s fitting that Montlake Madness is blowing up on one of the hottest days in Seattle history. Okay, maybe not “blowing up,” but our second week of existence has been good here — the response has been great, and we’ve seen the number of visitors to our upstart site grow consistently every day. We’re not quite Tommy Hanson hot, or Bar Refaeli hot, but we’re very thankful for our burgeoning readership.

Seriously, I really appreciate everyone who’s come and checked out what I’ve had to say about Husky hoops even though we’re still in the doldrums of the off-season. And, double-thanks to those of you who have commented. Please continue to speak up.

Today, in honor of all things “blowing up,” I present you with the best career games we’ve seen from each returning Husky. These aren’t necessarily the high-scoring games, but the ones with the most contribution to the entire stat sheet.

And, hey, thanks for coming by on this hot-as-ass-crack day!

We can only hope that Mr. Suggs’ performance against Texas Southern will not remain his best stat line after this season. But man, with the guards we are bringing this year, it’s going to be tough for him to find time. Regarding MBA: I was lucky enough to be sitting right behind the Portland State bench during that game, and he looked like an all Pac Ten player. If he can manage to average 12 points, 6 boards this year, I will be happy.

Ah! Fun to reminisce on some of those performances. I loved how Overton played down the stretch last year. I expect him to have many more games like that (+10pts, +5assists, and +5 steals) over the next couple years!

But man, I’m looking at some of those stat lines and thinking that some of these guys are going to have great breakout performances this year. Guys like Gant, Holiday, and Turner have great potential. They showed that they had the talent to be great role players last year, but I expect that they’ll bust into the stat columns this year to fill the void left be Brockman and Denton (that you talked about yesterday).

And then there’s MBA — he’s showed us he can put up numbers, but lets just hope he can find some consistency this year.

And I.T. — I wouldn’t be surprised if in a year when you’re writing this again you’ll have 30+ points performance up there for him.

There’s still a lot of talent on this roster — a great bunch of guys! Can’t wait for the season to start!!!
