I’m intrigued with the possibility of landing Aziz N’Diaye. With our style of play a great rebounding shot blocker could be the piece we need.

Most here are not old enough to remember the 1972 Lakers but they were loaded with Hall of Famers like Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor and Gail Goodrich. They set the then NBA record of 69 wins and won the NBA championship. They were a true run and gun team averaging 121 points per game.

The reason I bring this up is because(my grampa tol me{ :>) } that coach Bill Sharman asked Chamberlain to focus on defense(shot blocking) and rebounding which triggered the incredible Laker fast break. Chamberlain averaged 16.3 rebounds for the season and 21 in the playoffs and had countless blocks that initiated the breaks finished by the speedy Lakers. Grampa(ha ha) tells me that Wilt would use a baseball type pass to hit West, Goodrich or Jim McMillan or someone else on the fly.

Which brings us to Aziz N’Diaye. At 7’1″ he at least has the potential to fill a void in our up tempo style.

It’s not always the best player but sometimes the best fit.

Big news today with the Clarence Trent going out for the Football team for UW. If he makes the team, he will be under a football scholarship which means Romar has one more to play with this year. Trent looks to be doing both B-ball and football next year ala Nate Rob.

Come on Mr. Jones and Mr. Ross. Let’s sign that LOI in two weeks.

Mr. Trent – You will be a beast at DE and please stay healthy. We have big plans for you next year.

    Tony Wroton………wow!!

    Gersen, what did Wroten do?

Wroten went out for football, got injured and sat out the entire basketball season.

good call gersen… I was thinking the exact same thing. Hopefully Trent goes under football scholarship to hedge our risk of losing a scholarship to injury. I just hope he doesnt get hurt. Trent is probably the most athletic player we have on our team sans MBA.

Speaking of Wroten… found an article on Rivals.com today that claims that Villanova and UW are his top two schools. That quote came straight from his Dad. Glad to see Tony back on the court. Let’s just hope he stays off the football field.

and so did everyone else that wanted brackets to be busted.

The difference between this and Wroten is that Trent already has a scholarship. If Wrotens injury had been bad enough he might have never played college ball, much less NBA. No money AND no education. Trent is in school already, so he at least has something to fall back on
