ok so i might have been a little harsh on suggs but i really dont see how he is going to help us win games. I would much rather see Elston Turner in the game with another guard. I am not trying to say anything bad about Gaddy, all I am saying is that he is overrated. What makes him so good? All that he has that is above average is his passing and you cannot deny that. I read an interview with him saying that he scores when his team needs him to, well i dont think that is true. I like the kid, and am not saying he shouldn't be on the team or plays too much, just that he is overrated. I hope he proves me wrong.

These thin-margin victories in games we should be winning big are getting me nervous. Four points?? If it weren't for our D (and Montana's lite offense) in the second half, . . . different story.

Little dramatic there, huh Jordan? Suggs is garbage? Come on dude. And lay off Gaddy. The kid is 17 and has played five games at the Div. 1 level. He's a much better scorer than he's shown so far, but that's not what he was recruited for anyway.

I have had season tickets for 4 years now and i think that this is the hardest team to read in a long time. The zone is killing us. Last night I think a huge part of the game was the fact that when I.T. would drive the lane and created contact he was not getting the calls. I think in the second half he realized that the refs were not going to make alot of the calls that most all other refs usually do and it helped him to have a better second half. MBA makes me sick when he dribbles the ball with people surrounding him in the paint, keep the ball up or pass the ball. He did have on nice pass to an open shooter last night which made me happy and have hope. I completely agree about suggs, he is garbage and should transfer I cant stand the guy but hopefully he proves me wrong. I want to know who rated Gaddy so high because he really is not as good as his hype, he does not score the ball well at all. I would like to see Elston Turner on the court more often like he was last night. Quincy has finally lived up to my expectations and didn't have as bad of a game as I thought he would once he had a terrible start. The old Quincy would have been done for the rest of the game. Venoy is a great defender and a positive player on the offensive side of the ball aside from his out of controll drives that sometimes turn into controlled drives. I really hope we improve against the zone and think if a team is going to play zone MBA needs to play less minutes. Last night was scary but I am not as worried as i thought i would have been with a score and performance like that because it was just a night where we were not making our shots. Trent should play more, but I think he is kind of screwed because there are so many guys to play. Overall it was good to get a win even if it was because the center for Montana had two stupid stupid fouls. I mean what does he think? Are they not going to call two obvious fouls?

Do you think the fact that we play so many guys hurts the flow of our game? I mean it's hard for guys to get into a rhythm when there's always different guys on the court.

I was at the game last night. It was suggs not best game but he did contribute. Even the Seattletimes noted this. He is one of the better shooters on the team and during games like this, we need him. Even if it is during crunch time. He also had a man on him every time he was in the game. It showed that the other team was aware of his abilities and respected his shot. When we are playing terrible against the zone, you need your better shooters out there in order to spread the D. Saying that he should be the last player off the bench as no merit. Romar has a rotation, but he is not going to have the same strategy every game. Some games will call for suggs to get some serious playing time such as games against the zone. Its simple basketball coaching. There will be different strategies every game. The turner and suggs combo worked well when we couldn't shoot. The D had to cover them which enabled us drive in. Suggs will get his playing time and we will need him to contribute. Also, stats don't tell the whole picture. Can't judge his impact off stats. When Jon had a bad game, he was there as a leader. Suggs can spread the d and contribute without even shooting the ball. He will get his pt.

You made the central point on the big man issue Mr. Madness that gets to the heart of what is going on this year for UW in my opinion. Someone, between Gant, Breshers and Matt needs to become something that we haven't seen yet from either of them for UW to legitimize a top-15 ranking.

It actually could happen, as it is not uncommon for kids this age to grow in leaps and bounds. Realistically we are probably looking at pretty close to what it is going to be this year, though it is also realistic that there could be some important adjustments made.

Darnell needs to be more aggressive when he gets the ball in scoring position. There was the one time that he got the offensive board and instead of going straight up and powering it in, which he is clearly capable of doing, he finessed it and drew the foul for two shots. It was fine that he got that rebound, but he needs to take it one step further.

Though it was good to see Breshers start, Ty needs to do more than what he did last night if he wants to really be the man in the middle. There needs to be a better passer in the post to complement him and get him the ball in close though.

Matt needs to become that guy, but he tried to do too much again on his own last night. MBA is probably the best option out there right now if you want a low post scorer and unfortunately that's not saying much.

He needs to look to pass out of the double team much sooner. He has a low post offensive game and it will only be enhanced by a greater ability to better know when give up opportunities. If he were Jamaal Williams, the black hole approach might be more forgivable and with his height and length we'd looking at a high lottery pick, but he sorely needs to learn when to make the right pass when he is too surrounded.

Last year with Brockman, if Isaiah and Quincy forced shots up in the lane and they didn't fall, Jon gets a ton of garbage buckets and foul outs and makes Qvale look like a big old country stiff instead of a player. Everyone laughs it off and UW wins handily. That is not happening this year, even with an improved Q, IT and the rest

UW's only option is to get these three bigs to do their best at minimizing the loss of Jon and that's why Romar has to go with the guy that gets the most rebounds per minute in Breshers over Gant, regardless to the speed and defensive skills that Darnell brings. You can't run all over the place when you don't have the ball.

Next year with Kanter, UW will probably have a solid llow post scorer that can clean the glass, plus take his game outside much better than Brockman ever did. If these three can bring their games up this year to a functional level, the pressure won't be as great on the freshman and the Dawgs could effectively have a real national title contender.

Until then UW will have to find a way to minimize the loss of Brockman by committee. It was impressive to see the enthusiasm that Gant brought off the bench for his short stints in the 2nd half and that was a good sign. As long as Darnell plays hard like he wants to earn that spot back and only cares about the team, he Tyreese and Matt will not be a huge weakness.

If Darnell can take this move as motivation to learn to rebound the ball more effectively, this is a win/win for everyone. Conversely, if both Matt and Ty keep on improving in their abilities to score and rebound and keep getting better on the defensive end, UW should be able to win a lot of games this year.

Texas Tech and A+M are going to be very tough games and Georgetown is probably a loss, but if the big guys can give enough of an effort to quietly do their job, hopefully the guards can have games that were as good as the Montana game was bad and win 2 of 3.

That's a huge if, especially with the two games on the road. I also like Q and IT as underdogs and hopefully this Montana game put them squarely back in the dog house where I hope they stay, at least in their own minds.

I was at the game last night and Suggs didn't have his best game but still contributed. As noted by the Seattletimes, he had a man on him which showed that they respected his shot. He also played a lot more agressive than usual. When he was in the game, he spread the d cause he can shoot. Saying he should be the "the last player off the bench" has no merit. Although there is a rotation, Romar doesn't have a set order of who comes in. Different games require different strategies. That is simple basketball coaching. When a team is having trouble against the zone, you will want your better shooters out there and in turn will help spread the d. The turner suggs combo worked pretty good as the d started to spread to cover them adn we were able to drive in. There will be some games in which suggs may get in much and games in which we will need him like yesterday. Stats don't tell the complete picture. He will get his playing time.
