Josh Smith Chooses UCLA Over UW

Okay, breathe. . . We knew this announcement was probably going to come at some point. Kentwood High big man Josh Smith has elected to go to UCLA.

UW now sets its sights firmly on Terrence Jones, who may or may not announce his choice during the early signing period.

Boo, Josh. Boo. . .

Well, we all knew deep inside that this was inevitable.

Hope he is happy down there…but also hope his career mounts to the time on the pine and plenty of late nite in and out burgers with no field of 64 appearance of any kind whatsoever.

rather have terrence jones I think jones fits romars style alot better than smith does. The next few years will be a interesting race in the pac 10.

I’m surprised that Josh doesn’t seem to recognize the long-term value of becoming a hometown hero like B-Roy and Nate. I’m surprised he doesn’t seem to recognize that Ben Howland is not John Wooden. I’m surprised he doesn’t seem to realize the advantages he would enjoy playing with Abdul Gaddy, said by all the mags to be the Pac-10′s top freshman, and a PG with the superior passing skills to get him the ball better than any of the UCLA guards. OK, I’m ready to move on now.

What can we do to show Terrence Jones some love, show him becoming a Dawg is his best option? Can we send him a petition or would the Keystone Kops, I mean the NCAA come screeching in with sirens and lights?
