The ’05-’06 teams were thin up front too. But strong guard play pushed them to a Sweet 16. Even with no post recruits from this class, Romar will still have Aziz, Gant, Breshers and Simmons at forward in 2011-12.
-
Come to think of it, the 05-06 post presence wasn’t too shabby. We had Brockman down low to play alongside Jamaal Williams. But yes, I agree, we lacked height that year. Our biggest player and was Joe Wolfinger and we all know how amazing he was in the post.
I would feel comfortable with the post presence we had now for next year and add in Kevin Davis to the mix. That dude is an athlete if you have seen film on him.
-
i dont get it. why doesnt kevin davis have any scouting reports especially if he is an athlete like that
-
man tony wroten’s rank keeps falling on scout.com
-
yea… there are plenty of posters on Scout that are giving the site admins a hard time for not giving Davis a profile. He definitely is worthy.
In regards to Wroten’s rankings, I personally think that some of the “experts” are letting Wroten’s twitter madness get in the way of their overall evaluations. Wroten should be a top 10 recruit easy. Most of the scouts are not much different from the ESPN analysts when it comes to east coast bias. The fact that Stewart hasnt even cracked the top 100 defies me as well. I’m glad Brown is high up on that list. That will bode will for Romar’s appeal if he lands him.
All in all, the rankings mean very little at this point. We have another 8 months until the final rankings are released. And even at that point your rank makes little difference until you set foot on the NCAA stage.

UK UPDATE: Doesn’t look like Kanter will be declared eligible anytime soon. The Turkish pro team that he played for is denying any assistance in proving that Kanter didn’t receive any compensation. Turkey wants Enes to play in Turkey and will give no love to Calipari. Just glad we aren’t waiting around like this:
-
@craiger
Love the report. It’s understandable why the Federation won’t help. They lost one of the league’s best young players. They have no reason to help……they won’t get compensated because this is the NCAA.
Then again….this is Calipari we’re talking about here.

yeah i know rankings dont really matter but it just shows what the scout people know. also thanks for that report craiger, one more piece to assure huskies victory in the MI. im playing. itll still be a hell of a match. i think abdul should sit that day and let overton get on knight’s nerves.
-
I just hope those officials let them play. How big would it be for us and the Pac 10 to beat Virginia, Kentucky and Michigan St? That tournament is huge for the Pac 10 the rest of the year. That is how the nation will perceive us from how well we play. Funny, but we are carrying the whole league just like Arizona used to do for us way back when. No pressure though guys.

I never sweat over the ranking of UW recruits because I know that Romar have great eyes for talent. If Romars want somebody then it’s good enuff for me.
-
on a football note, FWIW kasen william’s rank went down too. i have a very strong feeling that he’s coming to the Dub. hopefully he will choose them tonight
