People forget that after Turner’s ankle got better he was more effective in the outside shooting role than Dentmon. And some of our best offendive runs occured when he was in the game vs. Mississippi State and Purdue. He has a lot more range than Justin ever did and is more consistent, I think he is the forgotten man when people talk about the Dawgs.

I am a newcomer to the site and just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy it. Keep up the fantastic job ! Go Dawgs…………….

Just a quick head’s up…I just read the new Sporting News College hoops issue and they are the first to pick the Huskies to finish #1 ahead of the Bears in the PAC-10. Every other publication rates the Bears #1. I think the Sporting News is right on with this pick, but they don’t think that any PAC-10 team will advance past the 2nd round of the NCAA tourny.

From everything that I have read, from all of the interviews of the players thus far, we are top 10 material. Of course, talk is cheap. However, the commradere of our team, the best coach in the PAC-10 (sorry Montgomery), and of course the mature leadership of Pondexter and the in your face leadership of Thomas, make us championship material. I think our frontline will be the surprise of the season (not to mention our inside out generated outside shooting) that will surprise everyone. We will be tough.

The one big question mark for me is how MBA has prepared for this season. If his legs were tired most of the last half of last year then he had better of been doing TONS of squats and lifts to give his legs endurance this year (like Dentman did last off season). If he has done this we will be in for one heck of a treat this year. MBA doing well is the difference, between advancing just to the sweet sixteen or the elite eight and actually going to the final four with a chance at the national championship.

I can’t wait for tip off!

I wonder how the loss of Dollar will impact the team. He seemed involved with everthing from recruiting to being in the players ears as much as Romar is during games. I always seem him pulling aside a player rotating out to pass on some wisdom…

Any way you can take a peek at the tryouts or get a report from them?

I’m a little worried we have too many cupcakes on our non-conference schedule. How are all those midgets going to prepare us to get to the Sweet 16 and beyond? Wright St, Belmont, Cal St Northridge are not exactly the national powers like Purdue and Louisville that we’ll need to beat to reach and move beyond the Sweet 16. I’ve asked Huskies return Gonzaga to our schedule, so there’s no debate on WHO’S BEST IN THE STATE. But they’re not listening to me. What do readers think?
Are we not allowed to be in a pre-season tournament this season, re some NCAA restriction? OldTacomaDawg

What are you hearing about the Enes Kanter commitment? It is a hot topic on the dawgman forum

  13. Themod’s avatar

I’m hearing that he did commit, and he’s supposed to be very promising.

I’ll do a full write-up for later today or the morning…

This is, for sure, good news…

I have really enjoyed the plus/minus stats…..I rember my Jr. High coach used this back in the late 1960′s. Keep up the great work on the web site and lets get our overrated (at least prior to TT) Dawgs back on track Sunday…………….shouldn’t be a problem.

Hello Josh. I love reading your posts and game previews/recaps. I was at my high school basketball game and spotted Cameron Dollar and Jim Shaw doing either some recruiting or scouting. I don’t know if Seattle U or the Dawgs are recruiting anyone from Jackson High or Glacier Peak, but I though I’d just let ya know.

Thanks, Evan… I’ll look into it… Really appreciate the kind words!

I just wanted to point out a mistake on the washington vs. oregon state post. Under projected line up someone put darnell gant as our starting guard.

Terrific coverage….keep it up. Just a couple minor thoughts:
How about putting the Pac-10 standings back on the site as you used to do ? Given this year’s parity, it’s imperative to stay up to date.
I also miss the plus/minus stats that you had occasionally showed. They really show some interesting things not seen in the normal stats.

If you ever need help with content on the sight let me know. I would be more than willing to do write ups for the games, or scouting reports for future games. I love your sight, so I’ll do anything to contribute. I watch every UW game SEVERAL times. I;m an addict. Keep up the good work, and congrats on your pending fatherhood.

Hey! We got a commitment for the Class of 2011! “Triple Double Machine” (Seattlesportsnet), Kevin Davis has committed to coming to UW for the 2011-2012 season and beyond according to Percy Allen of the Seattle Times! :D yay!
He is a very fast 6-8 scorer who averaged 20+ points, 15+ rebounds, and 6+ blocks per game his senior season at Federal Way. Right now he is attending Southern Idaho College for a year to get his grades up and because he didn’t play his junior season so nobody recruited him out of high school, but this is a huge commitment!

What can fans do to make Angelo Chol feel welcome at Saturday’s game?
